The battle between Zeus and Darkseid has started but not even the power of an old God might be enough and Diana will have to find the strenght to do the impossible.
Well, this didn't turn out to be a good arc at all.
The overall story that James Robinson offered at the beginning had some potential mostly because of his usual handle of obscure characters and mythos. However, the storyline ended-up suffering from poor pacing with issues where very little happened and characterization that didn't follow a natural development.
This issue is no different since it while has interesting moments like the battle between Zeus and Darkseid, those moments conclude rather quickly without a satisfying conclusion and worst of all, Diana doesn't even gets a chance to face the New God since for some reason the Justice League appears out of nowhere and forces Darkseid to escape (I guess Steve called them but still, this was poorly set-up).
At the end of the day this was mostly just to make Darkseid return to his former self and didn't offer a solid story beyond that, not even the introduction of Diana's brother was worth the investment here,
Carlo Pagulayan and Stephen Segovia share the pencils and the result is beautiful with powerful action scenes and gorgeous characters.
Other than that, man, what a waste. Hope things get better from now on.
