Whatever happened to Bizarro?
Bizarro's life has always been perfect in its own way but once that Mister Terrible appears, everything will change for better or worse.
This issue worked nicely but in a wrong way funnily enough.
Gene Luen Yang delivers a new chapter where he explores Bizarro World. The story is centered around Bizarro and his rivalry with the recently arrived Mister Terrible and I must say that Yang gets a decent handle at most of these characters because of the fun interpretations of classic heroes and villains in Bizarro ways. I especially like the new take on Mister Terrible since instead of being the old version created by Gail Simone who was just a guy who did everything bad, this is an actually Bizarro version of Mister Terrific and so it makes more sense.
But that's the thing isn't it? This is not really a story about the Terrifics as much as a story about Bizarro which considering the theme of the book it just seems unwarranted and comes out of nowhere to boot. This is especially bad because Yang's run has not exactly been the best and it seems like he mostly wants to work on Superman (again).
Max Raynor handles the art and is really solid with expressive characters and a vibrant style.
Not bad but not appropriate, not sure what to expect next.
