Some thoughts about Batgirl #38

Who is the new Oracle?

Lex Luthor has brought to life an A.I. that could destroy Barbara's world and she doesn't even know it.

A new chapter is here and is interesting enough at least.

Cecil Castelluci delivers a new installment where she explores the nature of this new Oracle. I like how they're referencing the history of Oracle here and asking really relevant questions like why she disappeared, questions that she asks herself which gives her a good motivation to learn more about Batgirl. Speaking of which, the parallels between both Oracle and Babs about their struggles are put into perspective and works nicely.

The plot itself doesn't progress a lot though and a few lines take me out of the story in the same way Hope Larson did during her run. That being said, there's enough character work to compensate for this and is cool to see Babs returning to her New 52 costume although I did like her new one.

Carmine Di Giandomenico handles the art and is really solid thanks to his rough yet strong style that gets the best from every scene.

Not bad, hope the next one is better though.
