Not even Superman can save Jimmy Olsen this time.
Jimmy is having a hard time dealing with his family and his own wacky adventures are going to cause him even more trouble.
I think this is one of those books that I like more in theory than in practice.
Matt Fraction offers a new installment where he continues the quirky direction he cemented since at the beginning and it might be too quirky for its own good. Fraction's style is immediately recognizable and I like distinctive styles but I think Fraction goes a bit too far with that by making the dialogue seems kinda awkward at times, the scenes way too silly (Superman's acting overly goofy during his appearances) and following an unconventional method of storytelling that is more messy than anything else.
And this shouldn't be bad since I like the ideas behind. The exploration of Jimmy's ancestors and family is a pretty interesting premise and something that Fraction is really good at, not to mention that we know that Jimmy should have silly adventures and the book recognizes that and delivers it but you can get too much of a good thing.
Steve Lieber remains in art duties and his work is still appropriate for the tone of the story thanks to his clean style and precise storytelling.
Mixed bag overall, not sure what to expect next.
