Some thoughts about Batman: Curse of the White Knight #2

Gotham City is searching for a new protector.

The Joker has shown the whole city that Batman is not able to protect them anymore and so, a mysterious man will have to accept the task.

This miniseries continues and is still pretty compelling.

Sean Murphy uses this chapter as an opportunity to explore a bit of the history behind the Waynes and Gotham. The opening backstory gives a bigger backstory to Bruce and his role in the city which I'm pretty sure will be further explored in upcoming issues. This leads to an engaging conflict against other organizations in Gotham who are looking for their own interests and are willing to search for their own champion to represent them.

The ramifications of the last miniseries are still causing trouble which includes the Joker who is willing to destroy Batman and everyone connected to him for the public eye and this is also what sets-up the inevitable appearance of Azrael and based on the backstory at the beginning, his role might more related to Batman than anyone could have ancitipated.

Murphy's artwork remains stellar with a beautiful dark style that is still pretty expressive and fluid when necessary and follows the plot perfectly.

Good read, hope the next one arrives sooner.
