Can Aquaman re-establish his life?
Aqualad has come to help Arthur with his new people but things are not going to get any easier since Black Manta is bound to return too.
Jesus Christ, I need to stop giving this run a chance.
Kelly Sue DeConnick delivers a new chapter that serves as yet another set-up. The inclusion of Aqualad into the cast is appreciated and something long-time coming, that being said, he's still not enough to compensate for how uninteresting the rest of the characters that DeConnick introduced are, and there are way too many of them. Not to mention that their interactions are not particularly memorable either.
Worst of all is that this is a really fast read. You quickly start thinking "Wait, that's it" once that you're at the last page due that the plot barely progresses and there's nothing remarkable at it. Plus, Black Manta is back to his "Aquaman killed my dad!" motivation which was really limiting.
Robson Rocha handles the art and is good looking with a vibrant style and clear storytelling.
Aside from that, perfectly skippable once again.
