Can the Red Hood handle the new Outlaws?
Lex Luthor has put Jason in the mission of teaching a new generation of Metahumans how to use their powers and Jason believes he's the only one who can teach them not to become supervillains.
A new storyline begins and is full of promise so far.
Scott Lobdell brings a new installment where gives the book a completely different direction and if there's something that I can appreciate about the author on this book is that he's not afraid of changing the status quo. The offer that Jason took from Lex Luthor last time has become clear now since his new mission is to make young superpowered people how to handle their abilities and at first one might think that is pretty out of character for Jason to follow Luthor's orders but Lobdell actually gives an understandable explanation that makes Jason much more selfless.
Plus, it seems like Lobdell is reviving his time with the X-Men here since the new cast is pretty much the kind of misfits that you would see in those books, all of them present interesting abilities and personalities that reflect their young age. Besides, Lobdell is using this opportunity to bring back a few of his own concepts like Dr. Veritas and what could possibly be Doomed?
Keneth Rocafort is back and he's a great complement to the writer thanks to his ability to depict the most bizarre elements perfectly with pretty creative layouts.
Great read, hope the next one is just as good.
