Some thoughts about Superman #52

The ultimate price must be paid.

The deranged new Superman is ready to prove he's the real one by killing everyone around him and is up to Clark to stop him no matter what and the whole world will mourn that decision.

Well, the story certainly concluded the way it was promised.

Peter Tomasi brings the final chapter of this little crossover by focusing on the fight between Clark and his clon while several of the most important persons in his life arrive to help him. The battle is solidly paced with some adequate character moments here and there.

The best part comes at the end when Clark says good bye to everyone around him and their respective conversations are pretty logical based on their stories and it ends in a few emotional scenes where the rest of the world reacts to these news.

Mikel Janin is one of the biggest reasons why this chapter worked thanks to his great storytelling and beautiful characters that made the fight impressive and the character segments powerful.

A solid ending for the character I would say, although who knows? He might actually return.
