Some thoughts about Supergirl #5

Supergirl's fight continue.

Kara is still trying to save his loved ones from her father and his army. However, things are about to get even worse.

Not feeling this sadly.

I was initially excited that Steve Orlando was working on the title and the early issues were pretty good and there are some solid aspects here as well. The characterization for Kara is really solid, is quite similar to the one she receives in the T.V. show, being optimistic and always trying to do her best to save the people which is as classic as you can get from a Supergirl portrayal.

However, the story is barely progressing chapter by chapter. In fact I would say that what happens here is pretty much what happens in the last couple of issues, Kara is still fighting against Cyborg Superman and saving others, there, done. I don't know why there was a need to extend this story for so long since Cyborg Superman is not that interesting of an antagonist to expend so much time in him and the plot is not really the deep to waste so many installments in it.

Brian Ching remains in art duties and his work is still not for my tastes since everything looks pretty angular at a big rough at times.

Hope we get over this soon and things get better.
