Some thoughts about Deathstroke #11

What is the solution to gun violence?

Several black people are being killed lately and Deathstroke has apparently taken the job to avenge one of their deaths but maybe Jack Ryder has other thoughts about it.

This, THIS people is how you make good social commentary.

Christopher Priest arrives with a new story where he focuses on one of the most complex topics from recent years: Gun violence. The story puts Deathstroke in the mix of a much bigger story, something that doesn't really involve him but still requires his own perpective about the events that are occurring and ultimately bring a pretty interesting view of such aspect.

Nothing is what initially appears and that is what makes it so complex. This is not the overly-typical "white cop kills a black man" story but it goes much deeper than that, it actually dares to talk about the even more common black on black murders, crimes that are not what they look like and a pretty realistic and mature take that manages to put every side in question which includes a quite surprising twist at the end.

Denys Cowan handles the artwork and his art is pretty dark with a kinda rough tone for both the characters and settings but it works for the kind of story they're going for.

Excellent stuff, probably the best thing I've read this week.
