Some thoughts about Justice League #63

Are Naomi and Black Adam ready to join the Justice League?

The team barely survived their travel to another planet and now all of them will have to get ready for yet another attack but not without new members.

Do you know what's worse than a decompressed issue? A decompressed issue where we're told what happened.

Yes, it seems like Brian Bendis might be getting worse at writing if you can even believe it since this chapter it's basically a recap about how the League managed to escape the planet where they arrived and this is described with some of the most obnoxious narration than you can imagine both in terms of narration boxes and dialogue.

There are a few decent aspects though like Superman's talk with Black Adam that seems on-point but again, just because Bendis can get Clark's voice it doesn't compensate for how little the plot progresses and how much of the focus goes to Naomi in a vain attempt to try to progress her own story (which won't happen here anyway because we know Bendis is saving the important stuff for her sequel series). Oh, and speaking of characters, Bendis' Ollie bores me to tears.

David Marquez' artwork is pretty damn good though with beautiful and expressive characters along with creative storytelling.

Ram V's Justice League Dark feature remains as the highlight of the title for the mere fact of delivering a proper story with actual progression along with solid character interactions. Even Xermanico's storytelling might be considered superior to Marquez with all due respect to the latter.

Passable but most because of Justice League Dark that does deserve its own book.
