Some thoughts about Batman: The Detective #3

Can Batman protect one of his oldest teachers?

Bruce can't help but remember his complicated past with Henri Ducard and it will get even more complicated once that he's accused of crimes against him in the present.

Consistently and surprisingly improving.

Tom Taylor offers a new installment and he seems to be rather fond of a character like Henri Ducard. Taylor injects a lot of personality into Bruce's teacher while also showing how conflicting their dynamic was because of Ducard's lack of morals which reflects perfectly on Bruce's good nature despite of his dark past. I know I have criticized Taylor in the past because of his lack of attention to continuity but if I didn't know any better, I could have swore that this was written by Geoff Johns.

The plot is mostly dedicated to the flashback and thus, there's not a lot of progression but the character work that is here is pretty solid and entertaining which leads to a pretty interesting cliffhanger and makes me wonder how they're going to handle it later.

Andy Kubert's artwork is classic with tons of details in both character models and storytelling.

Good read, hope things continue this way.
