Where will this mystery lead Superman to now?
Clark is trying to figure out what the strange girl he saved has to do with his people and especially Mongul, and this will quickly take him to a battle concerning Atlantis.
A few interesting plot-points here and there.
Phillip Kennedy Johnson delivers a new chapter where he progresses a bit of the main story... while weirdly enough creating an almost completely different one. The premise behind Mongul's manipulation of different people to destroy Clark's life continues to be developed and I really like the character moments surrounding the recently introduced character and how that reflects on the rest of the cast.
That being said, it almost feels like that plot-point is quickly dropped to involve a story concerning Aquaman and his cast and mythos. Don't get me wrong, is well told and I wouldn't be against an Aquaman run by Johnson based on what I've seen here but it almost feels out of place as a whole.
Daniel Sampere's artwork continues to improve and impress with beautiful panels, characters and vibrant action scenes.
Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad continue their Midnighter story and is once again, decent enough with a few compelling ideas about the classic abilities and personality of the character while depicting a nice dynamic between the characters. It was good to see Mister Miracle here too. Michael Avon Oeming is a nice fit for the more sci-fi moments.
Decent read overall. Hoping for more progression next time.
