Some thoughts about Future State: Gotham #2

Will Red Hood fight against his own family again?

Jason has joined the Peacekeepers and now is willing to fight Nightwing and the rest of his former allies to stop the next Batman.

This series gets more and more interesting.

Joshua Williamson continues his story by playing with the cliffhanger of the last chapter about Jason facing his own brothers. Right from the beginning you see Williamson's classic attention to continuity with a few flashbacks about Jason's past including the time of his resurrection and even his return as Red Hood during Grant Morrison's Batman & Robin run (which is another example about how Williamson has a lot of respect for Morrison's work).

The story flows at a nice pace with solid character moments in-between along with on-point portrayals. One might have think that Jason was a little off during last chapter but his actions are more justified during this issue due to the appearance of a character that was supposed to be death during this timeline. Not to mention that a few relationships are maintained like how, despite of how badly Jason treats Tim here, Tim still believes that Jason is not really bad which makes it seem that Williamson was also paying attention to Scott Lobdell's work.

Giannis Milogiannis handles the art and is still pretty vibrant and detailed despite of being all black and white while also depicting the script as clear as possible.

Great read, can't wait for the next one.
