Can Jimmy Olsen continue his life under a new identity?
Escaping from the law and even old friends, Jimmy is trying to continue his crazy adventures but he might be pushing his luck too far.
This series continues in the same quirky style and that works in both good and bad ways.
Matt Fraction seems really fixated in making this book as distinctive as possible, sometimes to the point of parody. What I mean is that every single character's lines scream: "LOOK AT MY STYLE! LOOK AT MY STYLE!" and what Fraction doesn't realize that such dialogue can be pretty awkward at times and it just takes me out of the story. Plus, the multiple segments and jumps between stories makes the pacing pretty erratic and unnecessarily complicated to follow.
The positives are that I tend to enjoy Jimmy's bigger role in this wqrld just like his recently created rivalry with Lex Luthor (Something I never thought I would see) and his current dynamic with Lois Lane is entertaining despite of the bad dialogue. Plus, I got a laugh from a few jokes admitedly.
Steve Lieber remains in art duties and his work is still appropriate for the comedic tone of the plot, he's able to create very expressive characters along with clear storytelling.
Not bad but still not ideal. Let's see how it continues.
