Some thoughts about Deathstroke #48

Deathstroke is back and deadlier than ever.

Slade has surprisingly returned to life and is ready to take on everyone who has wronged him and what better way to start than with his own family?

Is funny how this contrasts with some parts of this run.

Christopher Priest delivers a new installment where he explores more about how Slade returned. It turns out that there was a plan all the way back when Raptor gave his goodbye to Slade and infected him with his leprosy with activated Slade's fast healing factor which mind you, is a pretty stupid concept but it's not necessarily worse than other explanations for character resurrections and this shows Priest's plannification.

The best part are the parallels drawn to previous storylines. During the Defiance storyline, Slade was trying to redeem himself but here is all the contrary, he has gotten worse, way worse, willing to commit murders everywhere for no other but personal satisfaction and this takes him into immediate conflict with his ex-wife. The rest of the cast also progress their own arcs, especially Rose and Joey.

Carlo Pagulayan and Daniel Sampere share the pencils and their work is really good with expressive characters and a vibrant style.

Good read, hope the next one continues this trend.
