Perpetua is rising.
The Justice League has been gathering several allies but not even their combined forces are enough to stop the many villains their enemies have reunited.
Same as usual I guess.
Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV bring a new chapter where they come to the ultimate resolution of the Year of the Villain event and is predictable in execution. I mean, there are cool moments like the multiple Justice League teams and heroes from the Multiverse reuniting to face a common threat, Alan Scott connecting with John Stewart and the Starmen from different eras joining forces but just like most stories from this run, it's just shallow spectacle due that the writers can not create a truly impactful way to depict these scenes and instead focus on offering "big moment" after "big moment" without rest making the whole read asphyxiating instead of satisfying.
And that's the thing, Scott Snyder is not Geoff Johns who at least knows how to deliver this kind of scenes in a powerful manner. In fact, Snyder takes all the wrong lessons from Johns and overdoes it to the point that no moment seems big because there are so many of them. The little character moments are actually the best part of this issue and it's a shame that there are so few of them.
Bruno Redondo and Howard Porter share the pencils and their work is at least solid since they know how to depict a cosmic battle despite that the writing is not quite there.
I just want this to end already.
