Some thoughts about Superman #13

What is the secret behind Krypton's destruction?

Jor-El tried to do his best from making people listen about the peril his planet was facing but nobody heard and everything could be related to Rogol Zaar.

Yeah, the last part of that description is the biggest problem here as always.

Brian Bendis delivers a new chapter that, surprise to nobody, it reveals more secret stories about Superman's past. This direction has been so repetitive during this run that it just too tiresome and this issue doesn't offer anything particularly insightful about the culture of Krypton nor their people despite of its focus. I guess it showcases another side of Jor-El but it's not that interesting compared to previous incarnations and to be honest almost makes him seem useless.

But the worst part is, of course, Rogol Zaar who seems like had a really relevant role about Krypton's destruction and makes the mythos much worse if that is actually true, not only because it forces a retcon in the history of Superman in a vain attempt to justify Rogol's importance but also because Rogol is so lame that any involvement from him makes everything duller.

Also, the final page follows the Year of the Villain pattern with Lex Luthor recruiting someone and is already repetitive as hell.

Brandon Peterson and Ivan Reis share the pencils and their work is good looking as a whole with expressive characters and clear storytelling.

Not worthy overall, same as this run.
