How did Superboy survive?
Conner has mysteriously returned despite that most people from their old universe didn't and now all of them will have to survive Gemworld.
Well, at least this one delivered a few answers.
Brian Bendis offers a new installment where he gaves an actual explanation about why Conner has came back which, considering how most of his DC books have been incredibly decompressed, I honestly wasn't expecting. Not only that but there's an actual respect of continuity by Bendis this time (which, again, wasn't expecting after his other titles) due that Conner appears in flashbacks with his "S" shirt and jeans look and the reasons why he managed to avoid the Flashpoint reboot are given a kind of logical solution. Mind you, there might be more about this since it's also hinted that this Conner might not be from the same Earth but I'm glad with the revelations we got so far.
That doesn't mean that the issue is not decompressed though since it presents very little plot progression as a whole. Sure, there are a few details here and there but not what you would consider a lot or even enough.
Patrick Gleason and Viktor Bogdanovic share the pencils and their work is wonderful during their respective scenes, highlighting the young vibe of the title.
Not bad finally, hope things get better from now on.
