The Terrifics and the Dreadfuls' final battle is here.
The group has been reunited just in time to face Java and his allies, and the latter don't have a chance now.
This issues offers little content but I still consider it satisfying.
Jeff Lemire brings what I initially thought was going to be the last chapter and delivers a nice read. The fight against the Dreadfuls ends rather quickly and doesn't offer much excitement from a final battle perspective but again, this book shines in other aspects.
Those aspects as usual are the characterization. The dynamic between the team are really enjoyable as usual and this is reflected in little details like when Offspring finally calls Plastic Man "Dad" and the relationship between Mr. Terrific and his wife from another universe gets even deeper. The issue also plays heavily with the "Family" theme the book had an ends in a rather charming way with all of them together and this definitely reflects the Fantastic Four even more now that Mr. and Mrs. Terrific are in it.
Joe Bennett handles the art and is really solid with expressive characters and clear storytelling.
Good installment. Hope the actual conclusion is appropriate.
