Can the Justice League Dark defeat Doctor Fate?
Nabu has gathered the Lords of Order and they're ready to destroy everything in their path, including whole worlds.
This is one of those times when I actually have hope.
James Tynion IV offers a new installment where he continues his worldbuilding and it actually works here. The idea of Doctor Fate reuniting different artifacts that are connected to the classic mythos of the Lords of Order and Chaos is pretty interesting by itself and even manages to include other characters from the supernatural side of the DCU like Madame Xanadu, Extraño and Ibis, the Invincible, all of this seems pretty logical and makes the magical world seem even bigger than usual. I don't think is quite perfect since, like most of Tynion's worldbuilding, is mostly superficial due that the idea behind the Lords of Order is barely touched but still, shows potential.
The plot offers quite a few content because of this while also progressing adequately. Even some of the usual flaws that I expect from Tynion like the overwritten narration are not as prominent here.
Alvaro Martinez and Miguel Mendonca share the pencils and the result is pretty consistent over the course of the read with creative supernatural scenes and a vibrant tone.
Solid chapter, not sure if it will continue this way though.
