Some thoughts about Green Arrow #49

Can Count Vertigo be defeated?

Vertigo has returned to take revenge on Roy Harper and Ollie will have to find the courage to admit that he's dead.

This little arc concludes and it was fine enough I guess.

Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing bring this story to a conclusion and, while not impressive, is still serviceable. The Count Vertigo created by Ben Percy is still by far the least interesting interpretation of the character but at the same time, the writers try to give a certain complexity to his actions and motivations (Mind you, it kinda comes out of nowhere and contradicts the origin by Percy but whatever) and the story comes to a logical conclusion.

On the other hand, this is still not the best story involving these characters. I sound like a broken record I know but Jeff Lemire already did a much better Green Arrow Vs. Vertigo confrontration and this is a common issue with this arc so far. The writers try to follow what happened before but they're not as successful (that being said, they're still better than Percy).

Javier Fernandez remains in art duties and his work is still pretty good in terms of expressions and storytelling.

Again, is pretty passable but not expect anything beyond that.
