Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #73

A time for rest means a time for stories.

Wonder Woman is telling her new allies about the time where she was captured in a different dimension where both Amazon races had to fight together despite of their conflict.

A fill-in issue that works surprisingly better than the ones in the current run.

Steve Orlando handles an one-and-done story which is suited just where the last chapter ended and is suprisingly fitting. The story is suited in Diana's past about the time where her people got stranded in another reality which served as a dark mirror of the Amazons. This being Orlando, it wouldn't surprise me if this is an obscure concept from the Silver Age he's implementing here and he manages to give it an interesting spin.

The way how both Amazon races end-up working together makes a lot of sense while at the same time, their differences are still maintained. Mind you, I wish the Rebirth Amazons were not portrayed as utterly perfect due that it becomes pretty boring, although that might be my hate for Greg Rucka's run talking. This also connects to the ongoing story that is being told in this run which makes it consistent at the very least.

Aaron Lopresti handles the art and he has always been a good fit for Wonder Woman thanks to his clean yet expressive style.

Good read, not sure what to expect next though.
