Some thoughts about Green Lantern #2

What is the fate of the Green Lantern Corps?

John Stewart is dealing with the abrupt murder of a Guardian of the Universe and things are only getting worse once that the destruction reaches a much bigger scale.

This series continues in a decent, yet worrying manner.

Geoffrey Thorne offers a new chapter where he expands on the cliffhanger with the Corps taking actions after the terrorist attacks that have been happening lately, an attack that caused the death of one of the Guardians. The characterization is solid for the most part with John still on the spotlight and the writer still gets a good handle on John's personality and voice, important points of his past are also brought which puts him in a direction that will change his group forever.

However, one of the biggest problems that I've with Thorne's writing is his narration. The dialogue can be sometimes overwritten, unnatural and dull (not to the point of James Tynion IV but still getting there) which makes some of the scenes hard to digest. This was evident since his Future State work but I wish it was fixed already. I guess there's better written Spanish lines at least.

The ending is also a concern because it would be a waste of one of my favorite characters in the Corps and I hope that the writer didn't decide to get rid of him because he found him redundant.

Dexter Soy's artwork is brilliant with expressive characters and a really energetic style.

Not bad but I really hope things are not going the way I think they're going.
