Can Nico control her powers?
Alex believe that Nico hasn't reached her true potential and he might be right since she's about to learn the source of her magic.
This issue offers more consistent content as a whole.
Unlike the last couple of issues that offered enjoyable but fragmented stories, Rainbow Rowell gives us a chapter that works as part of an overarching plot. The issue is centered around Nico and where her magic actually comes from including the true nature of her staff, this allows for a pretty interesting and entertaining conversation that expands the mythology of Nico's family and adds a pretty compelling character to the mix.
The installment also offers an intriguing sub-plot due that Nico is forced to make a pact that could help her to become more powerful but at the same time could be much more dangerous for her and everyone around in the long term, this is not blatantly said but is heavily hinted at. Overall, I do enjoy this kind of one-and-done chapters that contribute to a bigger run.
Kris Anka returns to art duties and his work is still fantastic, full of beautiful characters and an attractive style.
Great read, hope things continue this way.
