Who has been manipulating Batman all this time?
The Penguin has important information for Batman, something that could make him realize who has been torturing him and his loved ones recently.
Yeah, sorry King but I don't buy it.
As we all know, Tom King revealed in issue 50 that Bane was the mastermind behind everything that has been ruining Bruce's life, including his failed wedding with Selina and yeah, it was impossible to believe then and it's even worse now. The problem back then was that Bane would have to be some sort of psychic able to control people to make just the right exact action for his plan to actually work and really, it just seemed like King wanted to create a lame twist to give some importance to his story.
What makes it worse now? Well, it turns out that the defeat that Bane suffered at the hands of Bruce during the I am Bane arc was also part of his plan and as we all saw, as we all know, that's completely wrong based on how the events in that story went. Again, it just seems like King is just making things as he goes without a true plan and tries to hide that by making Bane seem like some kind of incredible manipulator who can twist time and space at will. This is just too transparent.
And the dialogue is terrible as usual. Bruce starts saying ridiculous lines after ridiculous lines, all of this culminating into him repeating his infamous "I am Batman" line while throwing a headbutt to Bane and my God, things were pretty silly already.
Mikel Janin's art makes things pretty to look at at least and he tries his best to follow this ludicrous plot.
Aside from that, boy, there's no bottom for this run.
