The planet continues to fall apart.
The Sea Gods are beating the Justice League one by one and everything is about to get worse.
Not a lot happens in this issue but it still does its works as a transition chapter.
Scott Snyder offers a new installment where he explores more about what's happening with this new invasion. The story shines once again when it reveals more about Aquaman and sea-related mythos, particularly when it focuses on Mera's past and how it connects her to the current threat. The interactions between the characters is also well-handled and creates a believable dynamic between comrades, friends and even enemies.
But as I said, the plot is not progressing much. There are a few key elements being developed here but as it is, we're not closer to know more about the Sea Gods or how to defeat them although the issue does a good job at showing how hopeless things are getting which is something that Snyder's Metal event had in common (which also makes me worry about the conclusion of this story).
Francis Manapul's artwork is fantastic as usual with a wonderful skill as handling both beauty and storytelling that elevates the script even more.
Not bad but the next one better had more content.
