Deathstroke is about to face one of his biggest challenges yet.
Superman has arrived to take Slade justice but Slade knows that things are much more complicated than that.
This was as satisfying as expected.
Christopher Priest concludes the encounter between Superman and Deathstroke in the most logical way, not by making both of them fight each other like pure brutes (Something that you would have seen during Tony Daniel's run) but instead Priest focuses on making their own values and beliefs clash and so he creates a pretty complex scenario where their ideologies are tested.
Not to say that there's no action here since there's, but is handled in an intelligent manner and is not the major focus of the issue. Besides, there are several other segments where the highlight goes to other members of the cast and continue to develope their own personalities and stories.
Larry Hama handles the breakdowns and Carlo Pagulayan finishes the work once again and the result is still a quite good looking and polished work that is great in terms of storytelling and action.
Great stuff and it cements this book as one of the best this year.
