Some thoughts about Batman #68

Whatever happened at Catwoman's Bachelorette party?

Bruce continues to go through a series of scenarios about what could have happened but Clark is going to make him realize that he needs to awake already.

Well, this continues to drag but there are a few fun aspects at the very least.

Tom King offers a new installment of his Knightmares storyarc to explore yet another "What If" case where everything was going well about Bruce and Selina's relationship. The best part without a doubt is Selina and Lois Lane's party and let's be honest, that's mostly because of Amanda Conner's touch, I'm going to mention the artist first here instead of at the end as I usually do because of how important Conner is in this segment. She really knows how to depict a girls night out story and manages to bring a lot of detail and fun into this dynamic.

In comparison, the rest of the issue is pretty boring. Bruce's Bachelor party is just a dinner which, fair enough, sounds like something Bruce would do but at the same time, there are more entertaining ways to handle Bruce's seriousness instead of making a completely dull segment. All of this is leading to the predictable end where Bruce is indeed being drugged by somebody. Because we all know this has been happening, all of this seems pointless and feels like this arc has been going for way too long.

Conner is not the only penciller. John Timms, Dan Panosian and Mikel Janin also contribute but their efforts don't elevate the story in the same way.

Mixed bag, mostly worthy because of Conner.
