Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #43

The last battle against Darkseid is finally going to start.

Diana is trying to find out the location of the leader of Apokolips and she will have to fight his own Furies to do so.

Believe it or not, we have yet another issue where barely anything happened.

James Robinson delivers a new installment which is pretty much set-up for the final battle against Darkseid. There are a few character bits like when Jason tries to connect with Steve and that works fine enough but all of it gets forgotten once that Diana has to start investigation where Darkseid is which leads to a pretty quick fight and a much longer sequence where the whole cast is teleported to Darkseid, this makes the issue feel like is really lacking in content and is not that different from what happened in the last issue, and is definitely not distinctive.

As I mentioned before, this is transparently editorially mandated and quite frankly feels like a decompressed arc that is just filling issues until it reaches a certain amount but there isn't interesting stuff happening to at least compensate for it.

Marco Santucci's art is pretty decent though thanks to the vibrant look and strong visuals.

Aside from that, you're not missing anything, just waiting for this to end.
