Some thoughts about Raven #2

Raven's powers are out of control.

Highschool is starting to get even weirder now that strange forces are taking over the students and is up to Raven to find the source.

Okay, this issue contains some of the same problems as before.

Marv Wolfman delivers a new chapter focusing on Raven's new normal life and while some aspects of it are interesting, others are just off. The way how Wolfman reintroduces the new school and its threats can be compelling at points with some mysteries here and there while Raven's characterization is on-point for the most part.

THE PROBLEM is the whole execution. The pacing and plot are not bad but my God, the dialogue is still really awkward, particularly concerning young people since Wolfman obviously doesn't know how they talk and makes them sound basically like caricatures by going to the extreme with their lines. He tries to introduce several new friends for Raven but all of them sound pretty unnatural, even Raven herself at some points does it.

Alisson Borges handles the artwork and she's the main attraction with her energetic style that creates inventive panels and powerful visuals.

Other than that, still not a must read and I wish Wolfman would hang out with actual kids.
