Can Midnighter face the power of Neron?
Midnighter has finally arrived to to be close to Apollo. However, the king of hell is not willing to make things easy for him.
Pretty much following the same trend of the last few issues.
Steve Orlando arrives with the penultimate chapter of his story finally delivering the battle between Midnighter and Neron, and is solidly told at least. Midnighter is depicted pretty much the way you would expect as the typical confident badass while having some solid action scenes and an interesting interaction with Neron which all culminates in a twist at the end with just a little bit of hope.
However, I don't think this is particularly great once again, not in the same level as in Orlando's last Midnighter series at least. The ideas are not as creative nor engaging and the action is not as vibrant nor intense. This is not bad but not as impressive.
Fernando Blanco remains in art duties and his work is still pretty appropriate for the book thanks to his storytelling skill that depicts Midnighter's techniques nicely.
Again, this is still a solid issue, I just wish it was more than that.
