Some thoughts about Green Arrow #16

The city is being destroyed around Green Arrow.

The corrupt cops continue to cause chaos everywhere while Ollie and his family try to save everyone from getting hurt but things are getting even worse.

Well, this pretty much continues the same kind of writing all right.

Ben Percy delivers a new chapter of his heavyhanded "political" story focusing on police brutality and is still as one-sided as one would expect. The bad cop character is such a caricature that one simply can't take him seriously and he continues to be that way until his death and how does he die? With the "good cop" throwing a grenade to him because of course that's the way how a good cop should act, murdering a criminal instead of arresting him. This is probably what Percy thinks people like him deserve and to an extent, people who disagree with him.

This is such an extreme take on the issue that is unrealistic, comical at best and terrible at worst. Pretty much what you can expect when Percy handles social commentary. The rest of the issue is not bad by emphasizing the family aspects of Green Arrow but it all happen so fast and at such erratic pace that one can't enjoy it enough.

Otto Schmidt handles the artwork and is gorgeous as usual thanks to his beautiful style and great storytelling.

Other than that, this is still a waste of time. The things I do to help you people.
