Some thoughts about Aquaman #16

The war might be over but the problems for Aquaman are not.

Arthur is trying to rebuild the surface world after Black Manta's attack without knowing that a new enemy is planning to attack him once again.

Nothing much to say, still a nicely done story.

Dan Abnett delivers a new installment where he focuses on the ramifications of the last war and how everyone sees Arthur now. The character work is pretty solid with Arthur demonstrating the kind of ruler he is and how charismatic he can be to the rest of the people while also offering solid moments for the supporting cast.

The best part is about Arthur and Mera's relationship though and that's something I've admired from Abnett's run, he really knows how to demonstrate how these two are in love and makes their interactions pretty engaging. The new villain seems interesting enough as well so far.

Brad Walker finally returns to art duties and I was missing his great sense of storytelling a lot. The characters are really expressive and their details also show what they feel perfectly.

Pretty much what one would want from an Aquaman story, quite consistent at that.
