Some thoughts about Transformers #43

The war might be over but the Decepticon's objectives continue.

Soundwave believes in the cause despite that their own leader has abandoned it and them and he's ready to demonstrate his old enemies that his ideology can indeed work.

It's good to see one of my favorite series back.

John Barber delivers a new chapter from his story where he starts developing characters that have been barely used in the IDW continuity like Soudnwave and Cosmos and manages to give them a lot of personality and justifiable motivations and actions to actually feel invested in them. This might be my favorite interpretation of both so far.

They're not the only ones to shine here though. Blackroad remains entertaining as hell by showing how geeky he can actually be and the rest of the cast like Brawl, Buzzsaw and Lazerbeak having some nice lines of dialogue.

Andrew Griffith returns to art duties and his work remains quite competent with beautiful and expressive characters and precise storytelling.

Great issue, loving the direction so far.
