Some thoughts about The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage #2

Who is Victor Szasz?

Once upon a time, Victor tried to find out if he could still distinguish between good and evil and that will take him into a journey where his life ended.

The story is becoming more mysterious.

Jeff Lemire offers a new installment where the theme behind this book is getting clearer. The plot takes place in the 1800s this time and centers around the morality of Victor Szasz and how he has to deal with such a complicated and bigoted time. It's obvious that Lemire is playing with an angle about reincarnation here which is fair since there have been quite a few stories that dealt with The Question handling supernatural events and Lemire knows how to execute these ideas and settings rather nicely.

There are a few aspects that reminiscent of the first chapter and makes you realize that Vic himself is having a sense of deja vu about his previous lives and this is far from over since yet another one is about to be further explored.

Denys Cowan remains in art duties and his rough style is still pretty fitting for the grim and gritty tone of the plot.

Good read, hope the next one offers more answers.
