Some thoughts about Batman & the Outsiders #9

Can Black Lightning handle his loss?

A close friend of Jefferson has died because of Ra's Al Ghul and now Batman is convincing him to not fall into Ra's plans.

A new chapter that plays with this title's strengths.

Bryan Hill offers a new installment that follows the ramifications of Ra's Al Ghul's attack. The grief that Jefferson is suffering pushes him towards the edge while Bruce is not willing to let him fall for it. This is the kind of character work and dynamics that you can expect from Hill and he does a solid job at recreating a logical interaction between the two considering everything that has happened so far. I'm still digging the way Hill writes Jeff since he gets his voice pretty well.

The rest of the cast get a solid portrayal including Cassandra, Duke, Katana and even Superman who makes a cameo and shows a good relationship with Batman. The plot doesn't progress much once again but at least the other aspects are enjoyable.

Dexter Soy handles the art and is great with an energetic style and storytelling that make every scene worth watching.

Nice read, hope the next one moves the story forward though.
