Can Harley Quinn help a reformed criminal?
The Hamblezzer has spent the last 30 years in jail but he believes he is innocent and now Harley is going to find the true culprits.
I wasn't willing to buy this title since I thought it was more of Sam Humphries' terrible attempts at "humour" but I just couldn't resist after learning that Mark Russell was writing it.
In fact, this is a Russell story through and through, it's about innocent workers being incriminated by their evil rich bossess and is sadly predictable since is pretty much the kind of social commentary that you can expect from Russell at this point. That being said, he does create a few interesting moments concerning the Hamblezzer and his friends (who are mostly Mc Donalds' parodies) that depict how messed-up the justice system can be.
And Russell does deliver in the comedy department since there are quite a few good jokes, not from Harley funnily enough but from the whole situation. I mean, the evil businessmen having their "Hall of Food" that looks like the Hall of Doom is just hilarious.
Sami Basri handles the art and he was the most pleasent surprise here since I've loved his clean and vibrant style since his work on Power Girl. Hope to see more of him.
Good read aside from the expected stuff.
