How can the Shazam family survive the Magiclands?
Billy and the other kids have been separated and the only way they can return home safely is to face the respective rulers of the lands.
Another chapter, another satisfying read.
Geoff Johns accompanied by Marco Santucci bring a new installment where the worldbuilding continues. The way how Billy tries to be reasonable with King Kid makes a lot of sense and shows how much he has become the thing he exactly hates. The Gamelands and Wildlands also have their own respective culture and the characters who arrived there fit nicely with their respective themes, the Wildlands are especially interesting because they hate both humans and tigers, the latter because one of them betrayed them in the past so they're pretty much just a bunch of racists.
If there's a complaint I could mention is that I don't really like the new take on Sivana by making him so connected to magic when the whole point of the character is that he was a man of science to contrast with the supernatural powers he was fighting against although considering this is a similar portrayal as in the recent movie, I don't think things are going to change.
Dale Eaglesham, Scott Kolins and Max Raynor handle the art and while their styles are different from one another, it works because they focus on different Magiclands and all of them are competent.
Good read, hope the next one doesn't take too long this time.
