Does the Justice League trust Darkseid?
Azrael and Starfire are ready to follow Darkseid's plans to save the universe but Cyborg believes they should follow their own path and Jessica don't trust any of them.
This is a bit flawed but still presents an interesting turn of events.
Dan Abnett offers a new installment where he plays with the character dynamics of the book. The beginning start planting the doubt about if Azrael is being manipulated by Darkseid and such doubt starts increasing once that Kory falls suit. This is not only restricted to them since Cyborg starts showing a few concerning actions about the new power he has found and, while he doesn't want to follow Darkseid, his own ideas might not be that trustworthy. All of this is especially reflected in Jessica who is starting to fear her own teammates and most certainly will bring an intriguing conflict and mystery based on who is right here.
That being said, I have a few issues here. The third person narration is kinda obnoxious, it doesn't necessarily ruin the read but there are way better ways to tell the story. Not to mention that humour is not one of Abnett's strengths and whenever he tries to make Cyborg "funny" it ends-up being kinda cringey, not Sam Humphries' levels of cringey but is still off.
Daniel Sampere's art is solid with a vibrant style and good looking character models.
Not bad but I hope some of the problems get fixed.
