Who is going after Carol Ferris?
Hal has planned to go back to one of his loved ones only to discover that a version of himself arrived first. However, that version could be too dangerous for everyone.
Penultimate chapter and things are escalating quickly.
Grant Morrison is about to conclude his story by continuing his theme of reintroducing Hal Jordan's love interests and what better way to close the door than with the appearance of the most famous of all of them? The appearance of Carol makes a lot of sense but this also allows Morrison to explore his usual love for Infinite Earths by presenting a Hal who embodies the idea of a "nice guy" who believes he's entitled to women just because he's apparently kind but of course, the truth is that he's just a sexist pig. The good thing is that while the idea itself is overused, the way how Morrison presents it makes it fun and so is more forgivable.
Star Sapphire plays an important role here showcasing how different things are in different universes, all of this leading to the inevitable appearance of Carol in her classic role which hopefully will be appropriately developed.
Liam Sharp continues to show how flexible he can be by creating an interesting contrast between the cosmic scenes and the more classic romance comic segments.
Good read, hope the conclusion is satisfying.
