Some thoughts about Death Metal: Trinity Crisis #1

What can the Trinity do to stop this crisis?

Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman believe they can stop this new threat as they did in the past but the forces of the Dark Multiverse are willing to prove them wrong.

Let's be honest, this is basically just another chapter of Death Metal.

Yeah, for some reason Scott Snyder apparently really wanted to keep his crossover book with the same amount of issues as announced because this is really, REALLY important for the upcoming installments of such event, hell, the ending pretty much says that this same plot-point is going to continue in Death Metal #4. I suppose that is not necessary to mention that I highly dislike this approach since tie-ins should be mostly just side-stories, it reminds me of how Final Crisis was handled and that's just not good.

But about the story itself, is fine I guess. Is almost like an interlude where the previous "Crisis" have a central theme but I'm starting to get really tired of Snyder's "We can stop this, we have done it before!" lines that are only there to contrast with the hopeless situation that happens later, he uses it in most of his books and is just too predictable at this point. Anyway, the Crisis play an important role as mentioned but they're versions from the Dark Multiverse so, bad things happened instead obviously and they only really play an important role towards the end.

Character-wise I think this is solid though with most of the cast having good moments and despite of how much I disliked Snyder's Justice League for being pointless, I must say that Jarro is the best thing that came out of it, he's adorable.

Francis Manapul handles the art and is good although the colorist doesn't make his art shine as much as Brian Buccellato did.

Not bad I guess but they should have put this into the main title.
