The Terrifics are about to face their biggest fears.
Algon is causing chaos everywhere and is about to defeat the whole team. Now their only chance depends on another world.
Still quite engaging I see.
Jeff Lemire a new installment where he focuses on pure action mixed with a few character moments. The thing about this particular chapter is that most of the pages are devoted to 4 panels in which they depict each of the 4 protagonists in different situations which creates pretty solid progression and pacing. Best of all is that these contain really strong personal scenes where their personalities and backgrounds are explored, particularly Mister Terrific whose relationship with his wife is really emphasized.
There are even fun segments like Michael trying to figure out the most obvious way to defeat Algon and even making fun of the new villain who just appeared. In fact, that's how I would call this whole book, is fun. While New Challengers offers a much more engaging story, The Terrifics proves to be a more energetic and entertaining read and really in the same vein as the classic Fantastic Four. The best examples from the Dark Matter line.
Joe Bennett arrives in art duties and his work is pretty fitting thanks to his polished style, expressive characters and precise storytelling.
Great read, please stay this way.
