Someone from Batgirl's past is coming back for her.
Barbara and Dick are dealing with a new case connected to both of them and the only way to solve it is finding the Mad Hatter.
Hey, this one wasn't half-bad.
Hope Larson delivers a new storyline where she focuses on the past between Babs and Dick in a surprisingly solid way. The characterization is on-point for the most part due that the writer developes their early relationship appropriately by bringing little details about their respective lives and creating a pretty entertaining interaction between the two. All of it accompanied with enjoyable and natural dialogue.
The plot itself though, is not so impressive and that has always been one of Larson's flaws. The villain is pretty obvious since the beginning and I don't think there's going to be any twist about her in upcoming issues.
Chris Wildgoose is in charge of the pencils and his work is fantastic, a great cartoony tone that is perfect for the expressive and lighthearted nature of Batgirl.
Enjoyable enough aside from the a few issues, let's hope it continues this way.
