Some thoughts about Superman Annual #3

Vandal Savage's past is finally revealed.

From the beginning of time, Savage has been searching for the source that gave him immortality in the first place and now he's pretty close to find it.

Okay, this wasn't actually bad.

Greg Pak, Gene Luen Yang, Peter Tomasi and Aaron Huder deliver a story where they concentrate both on Superman and Vandal Savage. The Savage sections of the book are the most interesting ones due that they explore the journey of the character during different eras and they all manage to be interesting at the very least. Plus, we saw characters like Captain Nazi which was a pleasent surprise.

The Superman sections are not as good but they still deliver a decent characterization for him. The problem is that it still dwells into the whole "I have no powers!" deal which has become pretty tiring at this point.

Dan Jurgens, Rafa Sandoval and Ben Oliver handle the artwork and it looks pretty good for the kind of style they're going for and quite consistent too.

Solid I would say but we still need a change.
