Some thoughts about Aquaman #47

Aquaman and the Justice League are ready to save Atlantis.

After realizing he needs help after all this time, Arthur is planning to save Mera and defeat Siren once for all. However, things might not go the way he planned.

The penultimate chapter of this story is here and it continues to follow suit.

Cullen Bunn brings another issue where he progresses a bit of the plot but does it in a pretty derivative way. Arthur and the Justice League manage to beat most of the forces that have been attacking him and that's it! End of the story. I know that Bunn wants to conclude his story as quickly as possible after quitting the book but this is still a quite hack-ish job.

The most surprising aspect comes at the end when Mera manages to escape but based on the way she does it, it makes me think: Why the hell didn't she do it in the first place? Once again, this feels like a quite rushed way to conclude such plot-point.

Vicente Cifuentes is in charge of the artwork here and his work is quite solid, the characters are good looking and the storytelling is clear enough.

We're almost at the end people, let's see if it actually brings some surprises.
