What is the cause of the end?
There have been several Crisis in the history of the Multiverse and they're all connected to a great Darkness that Darkseid believes he's the only solution to.
Well, I guess if there's someone who could connect all the different Crisis in a cohesive way, that should be Joshua Williamson.
And is not exactly perfect, I think at times seems like a bit simplistic and offers a kinda generic link between all of them but at the same time, it gets the job done and plays with the whole "Meta" theme the series has been playing with. Another complaint is that I wish he would have completely discarded Scott Snyder's Metal work but on the other hand, it also contributes to the whole idea of Darkness Williamson is implementing.
This creates exciting scenarios next and it showcases Williamson's love for continuity once again with a lot of memorable segments from the past returning and also repeating some of those same themes for the upcoming final battle which feels appropriate overall.
Chris Burham delivers the best part at reminiscing the Crisis events with a lot of detail while Mike Norton and Andrei Bressan offer a not so polished work but is serviceable at least.
Decent read, hopefully the conclusion will be satisfying.
