Some thoughts about Dark Knights of Steel #4

What is the origin of Bruce Wayne?

Alfred has decided to tell the truth at last, about how when the Els arrived to Earth they decided to work alongside the Waynes no matter their differences but their relationship ended-up being much closer than Bruce expected.

Worked a little better at least.

One of the reasons why is because this issue is mostly character-centered which I believe is when Taylor's writing shines the most (Well, that and because the plot here is pretty dumb). Here we learn about why Bruce has Kryptonian powers which reveals a lot of the past and how is all connected to the present. The idea of the connection between the Els and the Waynes is well-handled and creates many solid character moments the offers a lot of insight about why the cast is so close currently.

There are also interesting connections to the classic DCU including of course the expected Superman origin but also Luthor's involvement is handled in an intriguing manner. Mind you, I think Luthor is presented much more stupid than he should be but what follows is something that combines both the Superman and Batman mythos appropriately.

Bengal's artwork is pretty solid with a detailed style that depicts both characters and the plot clearly.

Decent overall, now let's see if the next follows this trend.
