Some thoughts about Deathstroke Inc. #6

Deathstroke is ready to become King of the Villains.

Slade has taken over the Secret Society and now is willing to kill his former partner Black Canary, but that won't be an easy task.

Yeah, this is more of a set-up chapter.

Unlike Robin this week, Joshua Williamson has decided to go into a more traditional route here by preparing all the key players for the upcoming event Shadow War in which this title has an important role. There are a few interesting aspects here, particularly the new tension between Slade and Dinah but the problems come in Williamson's characterization of Slade, I still don't like the voice he gives to the character which makes him sound more over-the-top than he should be.

The ideas are not bad and I can see Slade being the leader of the new Secret Society so let's see how that works out in the future. Oh and the last page put a smile on my face since just in Robin this week I was commenting how Respawn could be one of Rose's brothers and therefore Slade's sons but this issue pretty much confirms it and heavily hints that it could be Grant considering how he was referenced here, this is promising admitedly since I was hoping for more development of him since Kyle Higgins' New 52 Deathstroke run.

Paolo Pantalena's artwork is kinetic and energetic, pretty good at depicting action scenes although not sure about the angular models.

Decent overall but I hope there are more interesting stories in the future.
