Who is Jimmy Olsen's new enemy?
Superman has taken Jimmy to meet Batman to see if he can help him but what he was counting with is that Batman can be an asshole.
We get it Matt Fraction, you really want to be witty.
Another chapter has appeared and it pretty much follows the same style you should expect from this book and its writer. Once again, the story is pretty much a mix between some serious events and parodies of superhero comics and the latter is especially obvious once that Batman appears. Fraction pretty much writes Batman as a joke, one that takes itself too seriously and barely functions like a normal person and such, his appearance clash with the story in an even worse way than how Fraction has been writing Superman.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for making fun of Batman, the character really asks for that but there are still ways to make fun of him while also writing him in character instead of a parody of himself which is fairly easy and cheap. This reminds me how Garth Ennis used to write superheroes when he worked for the big two in the 90s and early 2000s, just hollow cartoony portrayals without much value (although the funny thing is that even Ennis wrote Batman appropriately despite that he was constantly ridiculing him).
Steve Lieber handles the art and is still great with a lot of expression thanks to his semi-cartoony style.
This is dumb and I'm not sure what to expect next.
